Xinyu Guan is a graduate student of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis in the UW-Madison School of Education. She is advised by Professor Richard Halverson. Xinyu received her bachelor’s degree in Business and Administration and her minor in Economics from McMaster University in 2015. After graduation, she has worked as data analyst for a couple of years and later became a language teacher teaching English as Second Language across Asian countries (including Thailand, China, Hongkong). In her free time, she loves learning computer coding and website design.

Guan has a global and multidisciplinary education across business, education and computer science. Her research interests primarily center around using interdisciplinary perspectives and rigorous analysis of data both in-depth and at scale to address pressing educational issues at federal, state, and local levels.
