Shweta Chandrashekhar recently completed her Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Summer 2025. She holds dual master’s degrees in English and Special and Inclusive Education, along with over a decade of K-12 experience as a special educator and teacher educator overseas. Her prior professional experiences, combined with her perspectives as a parent to a disabled teen in the P-12 system, clinical supervisor, researcher, and teaching assistant within the university, deepened her commitment to improving educational access and collaborative practices in school-university partnerships. Shweta’s research applies intersectionality, cultural-historical lenses and systems analysis to primarily understand how learning within institutional systems and related personnel shape educator preparation programs, exploring how policy, practice, and research converge to bridge theory-practice gaps that enhance outcomes for all students in diverse classroom settings.
