Arati Bapat (she/her) is a teacher educator and researcher. She is a doctoral candidate and an instructor in the elementary education program at the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a researcher on the CALL for Equity Centered Leadership (CALL ECL) project.
Arati’s work examines how teachers make sense of various pedagogical and equity related issues in teaching mathematics. She believes in the role of teachers in transforming the learning experiences of students. She is also a part of a research team that studies how teachers learn responsive teaching practices through collaborative pedagogical reasoning. Arati has previously served as a curriculum developer, teacher educator, and researcher in India. She holds a master’s degree in education.
