Dr. Christopher Saldaña is an assistant professor and Anna Julia Cooper fellow in the department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis in the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research examines the relationship between K-12 school finance policy, practice, and politics and educational opportunity, with a particular focus on the educational opportunity of historically marginalized students. He holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in economics from the University of California, San Diego and California State University, Fullerton, respectively, and a Ph.D. in Educational Foundations, Policy, and Practice from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

As co-principal investigator, Saldaña co-leads the Exploratory study E (CALL-MEI) discussing design and proposing a study to measure the impact of equity-centered leadership in schools.
